​How are Naturopathic Doctors Trained?​

​There are seven Naturopathic colleges in North America, one of which is located in Ontario, Canada. The U.S. schools are located in Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon;  Tempe, Arizona; Birmingham,
Alabama and Bridgeport, Connecticut.

​Each program enrolls students who have completed at least three years of university study with a minimum of one year-equivalent in pre-medical studies.

Naturopathic physicians hold medical degrees. These practitioners are often licensed (twelve states, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and five Canadian provinces
offer licenses) and are sometimes registered (as in Kansas).
